Riverdale is a smaller Mall with a very good Woolworth’s, a great Ice-Cream shop (KIWI Waffle cones), and out only Cinema, Reading Cinema. A couple of take-away shops out the front including an indian take-away which is OK.

The Shopping Mall at the South end of Macquarie Street.
It has Coles, Target, health food and clothing shops, a food court with Muffin Break, juice shop, donuts and great coffee at Gloria Jeans coffee, and pretty good kebabs. Public Toilets too.

Every Thursday the Atlantic Fresh Seafood van comes to Dubbo, and there’s always a great selection of fish fresh from the Sydney markets. It parks at the service station in front of Harvey Norman on Cobra Street, about half way between Orana Mall and Macquarie Street.
Personally I love the flathead, although you need to get in early because it must be a local favourite, it always sells fast. There’s a slightly different selection each week, but always prawns, calamari, mussels, and a selection of fish such as salmon, deep sea perch, gemfish, barramundi, and other fish which I don’t really know very well but we certainly are eating more fish since the fresh seafood van has been coming to Dubbo!

For local produce every day and fresh fruit and veges, Mick and Paul’s is hard to beat. A couple of local fellows who do a great job at always having good quality fruit and veges. They don’t have eftpos, so make sure if you go you take cash. It’s on Wingewarra Street, on the left heading away from the main street, on the block after the cultural centre and the Old Dubbo High School. Good berries and mangoes in season. Good fancy baby lettuce leaves. Good potatoes. Fresh Herbs. Huge local cauliflowers in season.

Newtown Providores is one of Dubbo’s greatest small business success stories, a gourmet deli that has absolutely everything that Coles and Woolworths doesn’t.
Buffalo cheese, goats cheese, every cheese under the sun, vanilla pods, herbs and spices, more herbs and spices, exotic pasta, chunky red pesto dip, sourdough bread, french truffles, salad dressings, organic chicken, the best ham in Dubbo (by a long mile), fresh kaffir lime leaves, and the list goes on, and on, and on!
If you visit, make sure you leave plenty of time for a browse of the wares and a chat to the friendly staff. It’s the brainchild of Peter Davis, a man as passionate about his food as he is about science, and let me tell you, Peter is passionate about his science!
They also serve great coffee and generally have a copy of the local paper to read.
It’s at 62 Wingewarra Street, ph 6882 0055.
Peter also runs a coffee float at every Farmer’s markets.
