Food Recommendations

If you are after a fine dining experience, my top picks would be:

• 178 at the RSL Club (Best food and service.)
• The Indian Restobar at 29 Bultje St (Great food, excellent atmosphere.)
• Veldt at 95 Cobra Street (Incredible local produce and fine dining.)
• Reflections at the Quality Inn Dubbo. (Best atmosphere.)

For a lighter meal or breakfast, you can’t go past:

• Dahab (The most awesome Breakfasts, #1 on trip advisor)
• Press (Beautiful garden setting and best coffee in Dubbo)
• Short Street Store (GF options, great breakfast, good coffee, friendly vibe, humming)
• Church Street Cafe (on the main street, active atmosphere)
• Alchemy (healthiest food, paleo options, locally sourced food, great pizza)

For a more relaxed bistro meal, try the Commercial Hotel, West Dubbo Bowling Club or Westside Hotel.

Best Old Fashioned pub dining experience goes goes to the Old Bank, (often with live music) Pastoral Hotel or Macquarie Inn.

If you are after Thai food it’s a toss up between Rose Garden Thai and Westbury. Lime Thai in East Dubbo is also good food but not as nice atmosphere.

If you are after a massive feed, best bang for your dollar goes to the Garden Hotel where you will get the biggest serving size you have ever seen. They have $10 daily Specials – a big home-cooked meal style.

The Top 10 listed on Trip advisor are all worth a visit! Trip Advisor ranks Dahab Cafe Dubbo as #1, which is great but please be aware that it doesn’t open for dinner. Veldt is ranked #2, it has a lovely atmosphere and a great menu but the food quality can be hit and miss sometimes.
