To Holy trinity Church Dubbo
Dear sirs,
I am conducting a family history research and am tring to locate a copy of a book written by Geoffrey Lovejoy in 1940 called “In Journeys Often”. He was a bush brother known as Brother Peter from 1934 – 1939 (Gilaandra/Berwarinna area) for the Brotherhood of the Good shepherd, Dubbo NSW. Any assistance you might be able to give would be very greatly appreciated. Does the Brotherhood still exist as an entity? Is there any other body I could approach that you know of? If anyone wishes to know wwhat happened to Uncle Geoffrey after 1939 I would be very pleased to supply what information I have.
Thank you again.
Regards
Richard M. James.
Search for Ivan Southall’s book: “Parson on the Track”, a story of the Dubbo based Brotherhood of St. Lawrence. My copy is well worn, and under lock and key. It’s valuable. Hope you can obtain one …. Les Nixon
the brothehood is not The brotherhood of S Lawerence but the Brotherhood of the Good Shepherd.Where you would get another copy of this book I do not know.I had the great delight in driving Ivan around the then area administered by The Brotherhood whilst He did the field research for the book.I have an authographed copy which I also prise.

Hi Julie,
The services on Sunday are

10am – family oriented with a traditional flavour (with Sunday school)
4:30pm – relaxed and contemporary (with kids programme)
I have a card of the Brotherhood of the Good Shepherd Dubbo marked Christmas 1938 advising that Holy Communion will be celebrated at St Stephen’s Church Bourke on Christmas Day 6.30 am and 8am. On the reverse of the card are the names of the Brothers one being G.W. Lovejoy (Brother Peter). So if Richard M James is interested in it let me know.
Hello – can you help. I am looking for info re the Rev William George Parsons, who left my parsish Church of St Peters Lawrence Weston, Bristol in about 1962/3. He left to become the princilpe of the Brotherhood of the Good Sheperd, Dubbo.
Any chance somebody can help please?
