Farmer’s Markets

Dubbo Farmer’s Markets are on twice a month at the Dubbo Tourist Information Centre. The best place for info is on Facebook, but they also have a webpage here:

(Link on Google Maps)
The markets are on the first and third Saturdays of the month in Dubbo, usually in the park alongside the Tourist Information Centre at the North end of Macquarie Street, but in rainy weather they often move into the RSL undercover carpark.
You’ll find all sorts of Fresh Produce including fruit and vegetables, organic produce, poultry, saltbush lamb, olive oil, wine, sourdough bread, as well as fresh coffee and food. There are also usually plant stalls – including native plants, flowers and vegetable seedlings. On special occasions you may be lucky enough to see a cooking demonstration from a local chef or some live jazz music.

The new Dubbo Farmers Market website Jan 2011 is a fabulous comprehensive resource for information regarding the markets. Follow on Facebook or Twitter, see stallholder feature pages, market day calendar and venue changes.. Check it out.

The Farmer’s Markets are getting bigger and better every year. The quality of the food on offer is superb and the prices aren’t too bad, either. Shame about the lack of parking spaces, though.

Coming to Dubbo this week wondering if the markets on the weekend as there are 5 saturdays this month or any close by? I am after some blood oranges??

Very disappointing offering of Cherry Jam from Dave’s stall. Solid crystallised sugar with the odd cherry. Utterly inedible and should have been binned instead of being offered for sale!
