This is one of our family favourite places to go for a birthday or special occasion. Very popular for work parties as well.
Trip Advisor ranks it as number 6 in Dubbo but in terms of atmosphere it’s hard to beat.

Essence – i found it while i was wondering down macquarie street and was allured in by the mouth watering lunch and dinner menus posted up on the window. Being there now several times for lunch and then taking friends there for dinner, i assure you that the food is not only mouth watering but simple irresistable.
My favourite meal at lunch would have to be the calabrese fettucini. dinner has to be the hardest choice. for entrees the beetroot tart is hard to go past but for something different the taster plate which gives you the chance of trying 4 of the entrees is the best by far. the main list comprises of the beef fillet, chicken breast, fresh seafood and much more oh this is making me hungry and then theres dessert.
dessert oh glorious dessert the menu changes daily because they are made fresh on premises and i wouid have tried all of them from brulees, creme caramels, sticky date, cheesecake oh theres heaps. so i think you should go and fall in love like i have with the food at escence.
These people take great pride in the food they produce, went there few months ago, was a fantastic experience right from the moment you walk in the door. highly recommend, best food in Dubbo thats for sure.
We had the pleasure of being guests at a luncheon wedding reception at Essence last Saturday & I have to say that the food & service were absolutely exceptional & I couldn’t fault a thing. If you’re looking for a tasty meal that’s a cut above the rest in Dubbo then this cafe will deliver.

Followed by an amazing taste. I must admit a very good choice in the chef’s.

Wonderful information page on Dubbo guys – how about having a contact telephone number for the places you are giving information about. Once I find a number, make a booking, and go there I might delight future readers with my views – and perhaps – news that the lines in Dubbo are still on.
Just had lunch at Wylde Fire restaurant.
Very limited choices half of which were not available. What we chose was horrible (A hair in the chips, out of date salami etc) Could not recommend it more highly.
I havent been to Escence for a while but had always enjoyed the food. Then I had brunch there this week and the waitress/front of house was sullen and rude. Apparently you can’t decide to have one egg instead of two as I was told “its not a choose your own menu”. She could not have been ruder in tone and content. Won’t be going there again.
I went to Essence for a quiet celebration with my wife and 18 month old daughter. The food was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it looked. I cannot recommend the pork belly enough, melts in your mouth. We rarely have dessert at restaurants but we couldnt resist and were very impressed. The staff were very accomodating for our daughter too helping to keep her entertained.
We would happily go back to Essence on another visit to Dubbo.

This is the best restaurant in Dubbo, possibly the world. Service, food and atmosphere are really good. I’m going there tonight. Yum!
