Dubbo’s Best Food

Some our favourite places in Dubbo.

Best Fine Dining: Veldt, Reflections

At the moment this is a toss-up between Veldt and Reflections. I went to Reflections 2 weeks ago for my 50th Birthday. I took my wife to Veldt for our 27th Wedding anniversary a few weeks earlier. They both feel special. The food and service exceptional. I’d say Veldt has the slight edge on service while Reflections might have the edge on food and atmosphere. But they are both great.

Best healthy meal: Alchemy Cafe

Locally sourced food where possible, low sugar options, and great tasting. Open for breakfast and lunch, and they have just opened a second cafe in West Dubbo.

Best Hamburger: Myall St Mini Mart

A small take away Shop in Myall St, they make a great burger with the lot.

Best Coffee: Local coffee co

My favourite place for a good tasting coffee is the Local Coffee Co. Other places come and go, but the Local Coffee Co consistently has good coffee.

Trendiest Coffee: Press

Press is the classiest place to go for a coffee in a nice environment. They also do a good breakfast, and a great garden atmosphere. A good place to meet with someone you want to leave a good impression with.

Best Park to relax in on a hot day: Victoria Park

Green with great shade trees.

Best pub meal: Garden Hotel

Massive serving size, good homestyle pub meals.

Best kids playground: Victoria Park

There’s a great fenced adventure playground for little kids near the skatepark on the East side of Victoria Park.

Best shopping: Orana Mall

For a wide variety of clothes, music, JB Hifi, Big W, Woolworths, newsagent and jewellers, head to Orana Mall.

Best Caravan Park: The Big 4

Called Discovery Holiday Park, right near the zoo.

Second Best Fine Dining: One 7 Eight

Upstairs at the Dubbo RSL. I’d say the food and service is as good as Veldt and Reflections, it’s just that the walk through the RSL Club past the poker machines and Wild Turkey Poker makes it feel a little less classy.

Best craft Beer: The Monkey Bar

They also ran Dubbo’s first craft beer tasting festival in 2017. A must-visit.
