Camping spot at Terramungamine Reserve 10km North of Dubbo

Aboriginal Rock carvings near Terramungamine Reserve

10km North of Dubbo, a great place to camp.

There are 150 carvings along the Macquarie River in places used by the Wiradjuri Tribe to shape spears and tools.

NOTE: The sign above says 2-3 days but currently camping at Terramungamine is restricted to overnight camping only. This is to alleviate the heavy camping pressure the Reserve currently faces.

camping at terramungamine will be restricted to overnight camping only. This change will be enforced by Council Rangers and is an attempt to alleviate the heavy camping pessure the Reserve currently faces. Can you please make this clear on your website?

    Hi,

Is there any way to ensure that we can find a campsite at Terramungamine Reserve or is it just first in first served?

    Thanks very much!

    Thanks heaps.

It was easy to find and not too busy which was a relief as we went up for the Triple J One Night Stand music event and were worried that we wouldn’t find a spot.

    Thanks again!

Thinking of stopping here for a thirty six hour stop over.

    In a couple of weeks.

    Is this still permissible.

According to the Dubbo Council website you can camp overnight.

If you need to stay longer you could try Ponto Falls.

  11. Wayne says:

Alternative places to stay for longer…
Toongi Hall is good to take a long caravan into. Flat dirt driveway about 20m long.

Ponto falls is Ok if you have an off-road van but a few bumps.

    Hello,
Are we able to come and camp for one night in a tent? We have a dog, he is well trained and on a lead the entire time.
What is the cost and do we need to reserve? We would like to stay for Monday 10th April.
    Thank you,
    Genevieve.
