Dubbo Field Naturalist & Conservation Society Inc. is a group of enthusiastic people who are interested in our local natural environment. Interests range from rocks, fossils, birds, plants, the stars, everything natural! Goonoo Community Conservation Area is part of the Brigalow South Bioregion, 62,500 ha of vegetation surrounded by modified and cleared agricultural land. It is a very important refuge for our wildlife and rare plants. It is home to the nationally endangered Mallee Fowl as well as threatened species such as Turquoise Parrot, Speckled Warbler and Glossy black-cockatoo.
