Goonoo Conservation Area

Goonoo Community Conservation Area is part of the Brigalow South Bioregion, 62,500 ha of vegetation surrounded by modified and cleared agricultural land. It is a very important refuge for our wildlife and rare plants. It is home to the nationally endangered Mallee Fowl as well as threatened species such as Turquoise Parrot, Speckled Warbler and Glossy black-cockatoo. Continue reading

Giraffe

We think the giraffes are great, we often go and sit next to them and have lunch on the back of their enclosure. Western Plains Zoo has one of the largest herds of giraffe in Australia.The giraffe is an absolutely beautiful animal!

It’s worth seeing them being fed, they have a gigantic tongue that sticks out and wraps around their food. Continue reading

What’s happening in Dubbo at the moment?

So what’s happening in Dubbo at the moment?It’s a wonderful mild summer, a great time of year to go to the zoo, maybe have a picnic lunch in Victoria Park, or go for an afternoon bike ride. The Lime Grove

The lime cordial from the Lime Grove is great. They make a fantastic marinade for chicken that you can sample for free at the markets, that has lime and soy sauce and some other goodies. And I won’t tell you how good their figs are because the less people that know, the more chance I have of getting some.
